Blueprint Reading

What are 2 aspects of blueprint reading and if you were to place yourself in the role of a contractor, supplier, or owner, how good would blueprint reading skills be an advantage for you? PLEASE REPLY FAST.. Thanks in advance. . From what I can tell… An aspect of blueprint reading that is useful is the scale. You need an engineer or architects ruler to make those precise measurements. Bench marks and contour lines show what the ground will look like after it needs to be graded or if no grading next to take place. As an electrician it shows us what wire we need to run and how much conduit we need. How many 3-way, 4-way- single pole switches, how many doorbell transformers, and everything else. We cannot start building without those plans.

Blueprint reading is not just an "Advantage", it is a NECESSITY for any contractor, supplier or owner who plans to work in any phase of the construction business. The prints show the entire scope of the job -- there is really no other way to visualize or communicate the work that needs to be done and how it is to be accomplished. The prints show WHAT the materials and equipment are and WHERE and HOW they need to be installed.
