Finish Carpenter

I'm asking for real finish carpenters in the trade. Even with staircases and built-ins set aside, WHat does an average paid carpenter make to install base, crown, door window trim, wainscoting. . Some areas I've heard $30/hr, any $65. I'm still newer to the trade, 4 yrs exp. Well, I have your answer right here. The answer is not a singular one. The wage rates vary based upon a number of factors. I am a consulting engineer, not a carpenter, so in providing bid estimates for customers, we use a data set that takes in to count the following items that have influence. Union or non union rate, Where in the world is the work performed? ( big $ effect), 4 yrs exp could mean lead, with an apprentice or not, also significant effect. Commercial or residential has an effect. Go to your library or bookstore and get a job cost estimate book. RSMeans is a widely used source. Find the correct book for "General Trades", then find your city multiplier, find your job description multiplier, then find the general rate for grade (apprentice, journeyman, lead etc).
