Mechanical Systems

I read that mechanical engineers who work for the government have the highest average salary. So what do they do? And what are the chances that, if im very good, ill be working on something cutting edge/classifided/secret. I was so pleased to find this — Mechanical engineering is a very broad field with many opportunities the chances of you working on a cutting edge project is very low. You may spend time constructing bridges. Or even sometimes blowing them up if you enlist in army or marines as an engineer. Mechanical engineers are named on to do many things so you have to keep your options open as to what to do. I am not sure about engineers working for the government but engineers can make up to above a 7 figure income.

The government has the lowest salaries, so find the average salary and subtract about 10%. The most predominate engineering jobs with the government are Civil and Geological engineers. Ab Mechanical will most likely be a building or structural inspectorr. The government uses outside contracors for the juicy stuff.
